OSLL Softball Divisions of Play

Old Saybrook Little League provides softball opportunities for kids aged 6 - those born in 2012.

Our spring season aims to offer the following divisions of play.  Divisions may be consolidated based on registration numbers in a given year.

Coach Pitch

Open to kids that have played one year of spring t-ball or are in at least 1st grade.  This division introduces coach pitch (no strike outs).  Score is not kept.

Minors 

Minors continues to introduce additional rules and expectations.  Pitching may be a mix of coach pitch/kid pitch.  There are strike outs.  Score is kept and there is usually a season ending Shoreline Tournament.

Majors

Majors Baseball is the competitive division, with umpires, base stealing and usually a season ending Shoreline Tournament. Kids pitch (subject to strict pitch-count rules) with called balls and strikes.  Score is kept.

All-Stars (Ages 8-those born in 2012)

Towards the end of the regular season, Old Saybrook aims to select players from the Minors & Majors divisions for the 10U, 11U and 12/13U All-Star softball teams.  Old Saybrook may combine with other towns to field these teams or one or more may not be offered in a given year.
